What is the
one thing that is indisputable about each of us?
Everyone
reading this article has a common bond and experience on which we can build.
We were all
children at one point in our lives and part of a family.
We all
experienced childhood in a family unit.
We all can
draw on our experience as a child to understand the need for a strong,
supportive, nurturing family unit. Whether our own family unit was/is vibrant,
encouraging and loving or whether it was/is very dysfunctional, we can all
identify what needs to be done to help improve family.
Love,
laughter, sense of belonging, security, guidance, encouragement, protection, shelter,
nourishment, clothing, education, acceptance, esteem, etc. are all elements
that contribute to building a family. We all recognize the things that we had
as children that helped our development and things that hindered our
development.
As adults, we
have the knowledge and experience to identify those things we would have wanted
more of and less of to help us be stronger, more productive members of society.
Use that knowledge and experience to further develop the family unit. As
adults, we can help our own children and parents become better individuals and
to properly guide them to a higher standard.
Improve the
family unit and watch happiness and peace grow in your life and the lives of
others.
